Voltage Drop Calculator
Calculate voltage drop for your landscape lighting installation. Ensure optimal performance by maintaining proper voltage at the end of your lighting runs.
Instructions for Use
- Run length and wattage need to be input from your site plan or design. Wattage should be the total wattage on the longest wire run.
- On-site adjustment: The easiest way to modify end of line voltage when on site is to use the variable voltage tap on the transformer.
- Wire gauge can be modified during the design process or on site. Increasing wire thickness (lower gauge number) will reduce total voltage drop.
- All wire needs to be direct burial copper landscape wire.
- Wire gauge and transformer tap voltage have dropdown menus; wattage and run length need to be entered directly.
Input Parameters
Note: End run voltage values shown in green indicate optimal performance. Values in orange or red indicate caution - performance issues such as lower output and/or flickering may occur.
